Savitrī Upākhyānam — the timeless story of Savitri as narrated by Rishi Markandeya in the Vana Parva of the Mahabharata. Join Vladimir Yatsenko for a unique journey into the Sanskrit language through one of India's most profound spiritual narratives. Working directly with the original Sanskrit text, participants will receive Devanagari and transliterated versions, accompanied by word-by-word English translations and detailed explanations of grammar, etymology and mythology. The story of Savitri in the Mahabharata served as the inspiration for Sri Aurobindo's epic masterpiece, 'Savitri: A Legend and a Symbol'. Its profound Vedic symbolism and vision of the victory of Truth over death reveal layers of meaning that continue to inspire seekers around the world. By exploring the original narrative, students of Savitri and Integral Yoga will gain deeper insight into why Sri Aurobindo chose this ancient legend as the foundation for his greatest spiritual work.

This workshop is organized by NAMAH, the Journal of Integral Health, Pondicherry from 27th July to 19th October 2026 between 7:00 to 8:00 pm IST.
