Start Date:14-Jun-2026

End Date:14-Jun-2026

Location:Society House

Institute:SACH (Sri Aurobindo Centre for Homoeopathy)

The Centre for Homoeopathy, Sri Aurobindo Society, is organising a workshop on Walking Gait on Sunday, 14 June 2026, from 6:00 am to 7:30 am at the Ground Floor Meeting Hall, Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry.

Walking is one of the most fundamental human movements and offers significant benefits for physical and mental health. Regular walking strengthens the cardiovascular system, helps reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, improves mobility, enhances mood, and contributes to overall well-being. However, incorrect walking patterns can place unnecessary stress on the joints, particularly the knees, leading to discomfort and long-term complications.

This workshop aims to introduce participants to the principles of proper walking gait and posture. Attendees will learn practical techniques to improve walking efficiency, prevent strain on the knees and joints, and develop healthier movement habits. The session will also provide guidance on building a consistent walking routine and understanding the role of walking in maintaining long-term health and fitness.

The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. S. Rathish, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Pediatric Physiotherapy, who brings 27 years of professional experience and 18 years of specialised experience as a paediatric physiotherapist. He is an accredited Movement Therapist certified by Arthro Rehab and has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals.
