The Bird Atlas of Puducherry is a systematic initiative aimed at documenting the bird diversity of Puducherry, through structure field surveys conducted across diverse habitats / grids.  The project seeks to generate baseline data on species richness, distribution, and seasonal patterns, contributing to long-term biodiversity monitoring and conservation planning.

This initiative actively involves volunteers, bird enthusiasts, intermediate and expert ornithologists, along with students of environmental studies, fostering citizen science. 

The Bird Atlas of Puducherry shall serve as an important resource for researchers, policymakers, educators and conservation practitioners while also strengthening community engagement and awareness towards avian conservation and ecosystem health.
