International Conference on Sanskrit and the Scientific Heritage of India in the Context of Indian Knowledge Systems on 25th November, 2024 at Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry.
Sanskrit holds a unique place in the cultural, linguistic and heritage and landscape of Indian and beyond. The culture of Bharat is unique in the world. It represents vast history from thousands of years of its existence including diverse influences and rich traditions. The Foundation of Indian Culture is Sanskrit, the sacred wisdom which has shaped humanity through the ages.
The study of Sanskrit and Indian culture encompasses various aspects of the culture of Bharat, including knowledge, and wisdom, offering deep insights into the spiritual, philosophical, and practical dimensions of life. Sri Aurobindo has meticulously touched the inner spirit of Sanskrit and has done significant effort for the preservation and promotion of Sanskrit.
In the contemporary scenario, new systems have been adopted for curriculum development in incorporating Sanskrit literature and its relevance to modern context. NEP also promotes the creation of digital resources in Sanskrit through opening of digital libraries, online learning platforms to make Sanskrit education accessible to a wider audience. Thus, the integration of Sanskrit and research into the educational framework will definitely support for the development and deeper understanding of the cultural ethos of Indian Cultural Heritage.
This conference is an attempt to understand the relevance of Sanskrit in the contemporary World with special emphasis on the ancient knowledge system which will be useful to create a sustainable human society.
