AuroKrishi is a joint initiative of Sri Aurobindo Society in collaboration with Grammonnati Trust. This initiative focuses on enabling rural entrepreneurship in organic farming by providing rural farmers with training, education and technology-support in order to shift to organic, environment-friendly and sustainable practices.
There have been a series of training programmes conducted for the rural farmers. As a continuation to these trainings, on Oct 2, 2020 the first batch of training for ex-soldiers and rural farmers was flagged off by Lt. Gen. P.N. Rao AVSM YSM SM, General Officer Commanding Dakshin Bharat Area.
This 15-day training programme is conducted in the Society’s farm in Poothurai village of Villupuram District.
Along with Lt. Gen. P.N. Rao, Major VP Sharma, ex-military officer Shri Rakesh Kaul and Shri Vijay Poddar also graced the occasion.
The guests had a look of the solar panels installed in the Poothurai Training Campus. There were exhibits of organic products. The guests planted some trees to mark the occasion.
The aim of this initiative is to give dignified livelihood to ex-soldiers, rural youth and women and there is no doubt about the success of this initiative.
