Experiential Science Learning Workshop (Gamification of science concepts) is a project supported by DST, Government of India and implemented by Sri Aurobindo Society in collaboration with Joy of Learning Foundation and Directorate of School Education, Government of Puducherry.
This will be an intensive experiential science learning workshop being organized for science teachers of middle and higher level classes of government and private schools of Puducherry. There will be 50 participants in all. The first four days (27-30 January 2020) will be hands-on training of teachers followed by demonstrative sessions with school children on the last day which is 31st January 2020 in one of the nearby government school.
The objective of this workshop will be to make science subject as interesting as possible and to explain facts through role play so that students can understand better and apply the concepts wherever necessary.
The resource persons are Ms.Anshumala Gupta and her team from Joy of Learning Foundation, New Delhi. The topics that would be covered are Optics, Force and Energy, Electricity, Circulation and respiration, types of chemical bonding and reactions, photosynthesis, bio-geo-chemical cycles, skeleton system etc. covering physics, chemistry and life sciences as well to fill conceptual gaps in science teaching. Ms. Anshumala Gupta is an IIT Kanpur graduate with higher studies in education from TISS Mumbai and having years of experience in science education and having worked with NCERT etc in the past.
