A group of faculty members from Auro University belonging to different streams visited Sri Aurobindo Society on March 28–29, 2019, for an immersive experience of practical implementation of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother’s teachings in ordinary life, specifically in the field of Education.
SAFIM coordinated with Dr. Rohit Singh, Dean Academics, Auro University, to organize interactive sessions with different Focus Area Heads at Sri Aurobindo Society.
The two-day workshop started with the session on ‘Bringing Indian-ness into Indian Education’ by Dr. Beloo Mehra, from Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Indian Culture (SAFIC). She engaged the audience through various discussions to explore the meaning of Indian-ness, its need in Education and the ways it can be incorporated in the contemporary educational systems. This was followed by a session on ‘Dharma of a Teacher’ by Dr. Sampadananda Mishra, Director, SAFIC. Dr. Mishra delivered the subject through narration of interesting anecdotes from ancient scriptures. On March 29, Shivakumar, Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Integral Education and Research (SAFIER) and National Director, AuroYouth, delivered an active experiential session on the theme of ‘Experiencing Integral Education’. The two-day workshop was concluded by a deeply reflective session by Rupa, Director, Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Integral Management (SAFIM) on ‘Leading towards the Aim of Life’.
There was enthusiastic participation from the audience of faculty members who could relate both to the themes and the way they were deliberated.
