The BhooMe Innovations Competition provided a platform for students from 14 government and private schools to identify prevailing environmental and societal challenges, explore innovative solutions, and present their project outcomes. The students were accompanied by their teachers, who guided them throughout the project development and presentation process.
The projects addressed a diverse range of themes, including alternatives to single-use plastics, biodiversity conservation, water management, sustainable food practices, energy conservation, Sustainable animal husbandry and waste reduction. To mention few among the projects, Students
identified the enormous amount of paper waste generated in their schools and developed skills in making paper bags as an eco-friendly alternative. Other projects focused on maintaining kitchen gardens using handwash wastewater, documenting different butterfly species, and designing educational card games featuring butterfly photographs and their scientific details. Students also showcased resin-moulded products incorporating dried floral designs, analysed food miles to understand the environmental impact of food transportation, developed QR codes for packed snack items to help assess their nutritional value, and undertook water quality analysis.
The projects were evaluated by a jury committee comprising Mr. Arunkumar, Mr. Raghunath, Mr. Jayachandran, and Mr. Senthilkumar, who assessed the students' work and innovative approaches to addressing real-world challenges.

The competition offered students valuable experiential learning opportunities, helping them understand the various stages of project execution, including problem identification, research methodology, extensive field visits, data collection, analysis, solution development, and presentation. With the support and guidance of their teachers, students gained practical experience in teamwork, critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and effective communication.
Overall, the BhooMe Innovations Competition encouraged young minds to connect classroom learning with real-life challenges and develop a sense of environmental responsibility. The participation of students from both government and private schools fostered knowledge-sharing, creativity, and collaborative learning, inspiring them to become active contributors to a more sustainable future.
