Between 27 and 30 August 2026, spiritual seekers from around the world gathered for a four-day intensive workshop hosted by NAMAH and facilitated by Radhe, Executive Director of La Grace, Sri Aurobindo Integral Life Centre. Rather than a survey of concepts, Soul Signature was a guided inward journey and a structured exploration of Swabhava, one's essential soul-nature, and Swadharma, one's unique evolutionary calling. Sessions synthesised Sri Aurobindo's Integral Yoga, the Puranic and Upanishadic traditions, and his own documented Sadhana.
Day 1: The Grand Synthesis behind Swabhava
The workshop opened by establishing a broad philosophical foundation. Drawing on Sri Aurobindo's early writings and the transformative influence of his first meeting with the Mother, Radhe traced how the concept of Swabhava evolved from a classical Vedantic idea into the cornerstone of Integral Yoga. At the heart of this synthesis was Sri Aurobindo's integration of two great streams of India's spiritual heritage.
The three warrior goddesses of the Shakta tradition: Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati, as enshrined in the Devi Mahatmya were brought together with Maheshwari, the vast and tranquil supreme Shakti of the Svetasvatara Upanishad. Sri Aurobindo elevated these four from overmental goddess figures into supramental creative powers which are no longer to be worshipped externally, but to be discovered and awakened as living forces within one's own inner being.
Day 2: The Dual Avatar, the Cosmic Cycles, and the Soul's Journey
The second day moved from cosmology to psychology to biography. Participants explored Sri Aurobindo's integration of the four cosmic Purushas: Srikrishna, Balarama, Pradyumna, and Aniruddha with the four Yugas and the inner Varna system, understanding each as an expression of Swabhava at a collective and cosmic scale. Through Sri Aurobindo's horoscope analysis and passages from his Record of Yoga, the session examined how the Dual Avatar descended to guide humanity through the pivotal first Kali-Satya sub-period aimed at transforming global crises into an evolutionary inward turning.
Participants also explored how the psychic being, between lives, reviews its past incarnations, chooses its primary Swabhava for the next life, and designs the conditions needed for its integral development across multiple lifetimes.
Day 3: The Four Creative Powers, the Gunas, and Uncovering Your Swabhava
Day three brought the four supramental powers into the texture of everyday life. Maheshwari (Knowledge), Mahakali (Force), Mahalakshmi (Harmony), and Mahasaraswati (Detailed Perfection) were explored not as abstract categories but as recognisable presences in personal projects, creative work, and team dynamics. Alongside this, participants were guided through three essential inner movements:
• Introspection: Turning awareness inward to observe the workings of one's nature
• Interiorisation: Entering the cave of the heart; subjectively inhabiting the psychic being
• Standing Back: Accessing the silent witness poise of the Manomaya Purusha, creating the inner distance needed to see and disengage from the mechanical habits and distortions of the lower nature's Gunas
Day 4: Swabhavas, Gunas, and the Godhead of Mahashaktis in Full
The final day brought everything into synthesis. The Mother's twelve verities of sincerity, humility, gratitude, perseverance, aspiration, receptivity, progress, courage, goodness, generosity, equality, and peace were mapped against their respective Mahashaktis, revealing the specific qualities each soul-line is called to cultivate and how lower nature’s Gunas influence them.
Through an illuminating model of Vikarma which explores the ego's distortion of genuine soul-qualities, participants examined how the lower nature can hijack even our finest impulses such as sincerity masquerading as bluntness, equality collapsing into mere tolerance. Sri Aurobindo's luminous descriptions of each Mahashakti's Godhead poise (Beyond Gunas): Jyoti (light), Tejas (will-force), Ananda (delight), and Shama (peace) were also shared with the participants not as distant ideals but as the actual destiny of their evolving soul.
The Invitation That We Carry Forward
Radhe reminded participants that the psychic being is always at work and is always using the circumstances of life to grow, whether or not we are consciously aware of it. But when we align deliberately with our true Swabhava, our actions are no longer driven by habit or obligation. They become Niyatam Karma which is rightly regulated, joyful action that actively participates in the earth's spiritual evolution. As a parting gift, following paraphrased words that have been received from The Mother through Her Questions & Answers will keep guiding us as a constant reminder:
"You are a special manifestation of the Divine consciousness. Each of you represents a possibility of the Divine which no one else can represent. That is your true nature, your real mission, your true law of being. To discover it, to awaken to it, and to live it fully — this is the very goal of your existence.”
