Svarnim Puducherry in collaboration with Shree Bharath Vidyashram CBSE Senior Secondary School, organised a special plantation drive at Umarankadu near Bahour on 19 August 2026. The initiative brought together volunteers from Svarnim Puducherry and around 100 school students in an effort to encourage environmental awareness and responsible action.
The plantation drive aimed to go beyond tree planting by helping students develop a deeper sense of environmental responsibility. The initiative sought to enhance green cover, support local biodiversity, create awareness about climate action and encourage students to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
Bahour MLA R. Senthil Kumar and members of Svarnim Puducherry, participated in the programme. Their presence encouraged the students and highlighted the importance of collective participation in environmental initiatives.
Through hands-on participation, the students had an opportunity to contribute directly to creating a greener environment. The programme reinforced the idea that environmental conservation is not merely a one-time activity but a shared responsibility that can be nurtured through awareness and sustained action.
The plantation drive reflected Svarnim Puducherry's continued commitment to engaging young people in meaningful environmental initiatives and fostering a culture of sustainability within the community.
