On the occasion of Independence Day, SARVAM organised special programmes for children at Children’s Corners across 10 project locations, reaching approximately 300 students. The celebrations aimed to create awareness among young minds about the significance of India’s freedom struggle and inspire them through the courage, sacrifice and patriotism of the nation’s freedom fighters.

A key highlight of the programme was the screening of a film on Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, which introduced the students to the inspiring life and bravery of one of India’s most courageous freedom fighters. The film helped the children understand the values of determination, courage and sacrifice that played an important role in India’s struggle for independence.
The celebrations also featured drawing and cultural activities, with students participating enthusiastically and expressing their thoughts and feelings about Independence Day, the nation and its freedom fighters. The cultural programmes added vibrancy to the celebrations while providing children with an opportunity to showcase their creativity and talents.
As part of the programme, students also delivered short talks on national leaders, sharing what they had learnt about their lives, contributions and role in India’s freedom movement. These activities encouraged the children to engage with India’s history and develop a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes.
Through these programmes, SARVAM sought to make Independence Day a meaningful and educational experience, bringing together learning, creativity and cultural participation. The enthusiastic involvement of around 300 students across 10 locations made the celebrations memorable and helped reinforce the values of freedom, courage, unity and patriotism among the younger generation.
