Between September 9 and October 7, 2026, NAMAH hosted Archetypes and Sadhana, a five-session online immersive series facilitated by Lopa Mukherjee. Drawing on Integral Yoga alongside Vedic symbolism, Greek mythology, Hermetic philosophy and nature spirituality, the series explored how archetypes need to be understood not as mere psychological constructs but as real cosmic forces which can be consciously engaged to accelerate the triple transformation of the Sadhaka across psychic, spiritual, and supramental domains.

Key Takeaways and Take-Home Practices

Identifying one’s light-source personality type as the starting point for self-knowledge
Establishing the Kavach (protective aura) before any archetypal invocation or meditation
Inviting positive archetypes consciously through guided practice, study, and hymns
Keeping the psychic being in the foreground and ego in the background, as this forms the basis for determining which energies manage to gain entry
- Cultivating love as the primary instrument, as it is that singular force which dark archetypes cannot withstand
- Working with fairy tales, myths, and great art as inner maps of one’s own archetypal dynamics
- Applying the three-step Samatha framework (Udasinata → Nati → Collaboration) towards collective world-work
- Offering energy to the four Vedic solar kings whose qualities must be urgently recovered:
|
Solar King |
Quality |
Significance |
|
Varuna |
Vastness |
The expansive sky and ocean; limitless generosity |
|
Mitra |
Friendship /Compassion |
Related to the future Maitreya Buddha; the quality which is the most needed now |
|
Aryaman |
Honesty / Frankness |
God of the straightforward and upright path |
|
Bhaga |
Sharing / Enjoyment |
Joy and abundance through generosity |
- Holding the principle “Adore and what you adore, attempt to be”, the archetype one consciously aspires toward will progressively reshape one’s being
Precautions to Observe
- Do not amplify archetypal energy beyond the inner vessel’s current capacity; the body and being must be purified and expanded before hosting a great archetype
- Do not engage dark archetypes out of curiosity or ambition as uncleansed desire for power opens the “nether doors” to destructive entry
- Do not fight dark forces from below; rise above first, then act from that height as fighting from below cedes control to the archetype
- Do not watch dark films or consume fear-generating media, especially at night
- Do not fully identify with an archetype to the point of losing discernment as even positive archetypes can distort the ego’s expression
- When in doubt about any energy, reject it by default; erring on the side of caution is always the safer course
- Choosing too many archetypes, such as twelve, dilutes the focus and effectiveness of one’s contemplation. Selecting 1-3 archetypes for a week provides sufficient depth for engagement.

- Perennial context: A cross-cultural framework built on Vedic, Greek and Hermetic heritage, situating Integral Yoga within these universal wisdom traditions

To help carry forward the work initiated to the next level, NAMAH will be offering a follow-up companion five-session series on Dream Yoga and Archetypes also to be facilitated by Lopa Mukherjee, starting 7th December.
