On 19th June 2026, Shri Shivakumar, Director of SAFIER and AuroYouth, Sri Aurobindo Society, delivered an inspiring session for the students of IIT Palakkad on the theme of holistic growth and the deeper purpose of education. This was part of 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations organised by the Yogshala, IIT Palakkad. A group of about 30 students, with a few staff, participated.

Drawing from his own educational journey in Palakkad, he encouraged students to look beyond academic excellence and recognise that success in life depends not only on professional competence but also on developing a healthy body, emotional balance, clarity of mind, and a strong inner foundation. He highlighted that education should prepare students for life by nurturing these essential dimensions alongside intellectual achievement.

Introducing the audience to the Indian understanding of Yoga as a process of connecting with the deeper source of one's inner potential, Shri Shivakumar explained that every field of human endeavour can become a path of excellence when guided by this inner consciousness. Through examples from the lives of accomplished individuals, he illustrated how creativity, leadership, and true fulfilment emerge by aligning one's work with this inner power. The session concluded with an invitation to students to embrace a more integral approach to education and life, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to society while realising their highest potential.
