Tmt. Gokula Lakshmi, Agricultural Officer-cum-BTT Convenor, FIAC–Kalapet, commenced the training programme with a welcome address.
Shri Joseph Albert, Deputy Director of Agriculture (Inputs), Thattanchavady, delivered the felicitation address, emphasizing the importance of sustainable agriculture and responsible input management in enhancing farmers' livelihoods while promoting environmental conservation.
Shri P. R. Srinivasamurthy, Project Director, Aurokrishi, gave an introduction on Mission & Vision of Natural and Conscious farming. He highlighted the need to reduce dependency on synthetic petro chemical inputs and promote ecological balance.
Shri Raja Ganesh, Training Coordinator, conducted a technical session on organic cultivation practices. He explained best practices in organic farming, including soil fertility management, crop nutrition and the effective use of locally available resources which were presented through a PPT. The significance of traditional farming methods in achieving sustainable agriculture was also emphasized.
Mr. S. Kalaiselvan, Agricultural Officer, State Pesticide Testing Laboratory (STL) Office of the ADA (LUP & QC), Thattanchavady, Puducherry, conducted a session on Minimizing Chemical Fertilizer & Pesticides Usages And Precaution Of Ocular Trauma. Participants were encouraged to adopt sustainable farming practices to improve long-term soil health, enhance productivity and ensure environmental sustainability.
Shri Manimaran and Shri Alex, Aurokrishi, Farm Coordinators, demonstrated the preparation and application of organic inputs. They explained the benefits of using farm-produced organic formulations to improve soil fertility, reduce cultivation costs and enhance crop health. Participants received hands-on guidance on integrating these organic inputs into their existing farming practices.
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion and feedback session, during which participants expressed their appreciation for the practical demonstrations and expert guidance provided by the resource persons.
