On 19 May 2026 and 20 May 2026, the AuroModel Prison Project, in collaboration with Nandha Naturopathy and Yoga Medical College, guided by our Yoga master Mr. Neelakandan, successfully organised a two-day Yoga and Wellness Programme for inmates at the prison campus.

Around 25 inmates participated in the sessions on a rotational/session basis, actively engaging in the activities conducted over the two days.

The programme commenced with a yogic cleansing practice known as Vaman Dhauti, aimed at detoxification and internal cleansing under expert supervision. This was followed by an inaugural and felicitation session, setting the tone for a meaningful and transformative learning experience.

Throughout the programme, participants attended integrated sessions on Yoga Asanas, Pranayama (breathing techniques), Healing Mantras, Yogic Philosophy, stress management and deep relaxation practices. The sessions were led by experienced faculty members and wellness practitioners from Nandha Naturopathy and Yoga Medical College, who guided the inmates through practical demonstrations and interactive discussions.

In addition to the yoga sessions, parallel wellness activities were also organised during both days. These included:

  • Health Screening: Non-invasive Iris Diagnosis screening for selected inmates to assess overall systemic health conditions.
  • Pain Management Clinic: Acupuncture and acupressure therapy sessions for inmates suffering from chronic ailments and for interested prison staff members.

The programme received encouraging participation and positive feedback from the inmates, who found the sessions beneficial for both physical and mental well-being.
