Dr Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry was invited by the Bharatiya Bhasha Abhiyan to deliver a talk on “Mother Tongue in Indian Judiciary: A Pathway to Viksit Bharat, Cultural Integrity, and Sustainable Development.”
Dr Tripathy addressed the distinguished gathering of senior lawyers and advocates of the Supreme Court of India under the Bharatiya Bhasha Abhiyan, an initiative of Shiksha Samskriti Utthana Nyasa. The session was chaired by Shri Raghavendra Shukla, Counsel for Union of India in Supreme Court of India. Shri Raghavendra Shukla, emphasized on the use of Indian languages in the higher judiciary to make justice more accessible to the common citizen.
Dr Tripathy focused on the development of Bharat from a philological perspective, drawing upon the vision of the Maharshi Aurobindo, and the Mother. It underscored the significance of linguistic unity rooted in the wisdom of the Rishis and its relevance in today’s world. Emphasizing the implementation of Indian languages in the legal system is essential to ensure accessibility, fairness, transparency, and equal justice for all citizens.
The deliberations also highlighted the need for a national language capable of addressing linguistic fragmentation while fostering harmony among global languages for sustainable development. Around fifty senior advocates, lawyers, and officials of the Supreme Court and associated with the Bharatiya Bhasha Abhiyan participated in the session. The exchange encouraged meaningful dialogue on language, culture, and national integration, making the event both insightful and enriching for all present.
