The Siddha Day Celebration 2026 is themed "Siddha for Global Health." It is organized by the World Siddha Forum (WSF) – UAE, Science India Forum (SIF), and the 3rd International AYUSH Conference and Exhibition Organising Committee in Dubai, UAE. The University of Trans Disciplinary Health Sciences in Bangalore, India, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, and AYUSH and TCIM stakeholders of UAE are also involved.
Bureaucrats and Academicians from various institutions attended. Notable attendees include Ms. Ankita Wakekar, IFS, Consul - Labor Welfare & Pravasi Indian Cell at the Consulate General of India in Dubai. Mr. Mohan Das, Organising Secretary of Science India Forum, Dr. Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary of AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry, Dr. Satish Krishnan, President of Science India Forum, Prof. G. Hariramamurthi, Emeritus Professor at TDU and Founder Member of World Siddha Forum, and Dr. Priya Dharsny, Siddha Doctor in Dubai & Coordinator, Founder Member of World Siddha Forum-UAE. Siddha practitioners from various disciplines were also present.
Dr. Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary of AuroBharati at Sri Aurobindo Society in Puducherry, discussed the “interdisciplinary research and the invention of Siddha systems of knowledge aimed at public health, wealth, and sustainability.” In his address Dr Tripathy highlighted about Sri Aurobindo’s vision “….siddha, the fulfilled or perfect man, his evolution is over and he has completed in the individual that utmost development which the mass of humanity is labouring towards through the ages.” Dr Tripathy further emphasized that Siddha system represents in its holistic vision of health, integrating body, mind, and spirit with nature.
The wisdom of Rishi Agastya and the 18 Maha Siddhas shows a sophisticated interdisciplinary method that includes medicine, alchemy, yoga, astronomy, ecology, ethics, and metaphysics. He also stated that Siddha focuses on preventive healthcare, balanced living, and harmony with the universe.
In today's world of conflict, lifestyle diseases, and environmental harm, revisiting Siddha principles is crucial for fostering peace, sustainable health systems, and ecological sustainability globally.
Dr. Tripathy also spoke about the Siddha Project at AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, which aims to revive, document, and globally position the Siddha knowledge system in line with India's spiritual and scientific heritage.
Siddha Day is celebrated around the world to honor the rich heritage of the Siddha System of medicine, one of the oldest traditional health cultures in India and worldwide, now commonly referred to as the AYUSH systems, which focus on holistic health, preventive care, and harmony with nature. The theme of the 9th Siddha Day, "Siddha for Global Health," emphasized the importance of Siddha medicine in preventive and promotive healthcare, integrative and complementary medicine for wellness and longevity, sustainable health systems in harmony with nature, and global health resilience in accordance with WHO–TCIM, One Health, and Planetary Health frameworks.
On this occasion, a presentation on the Exhibition of Medicinal Plants native to UAE and India was made by Prof. G. Hariramamurthi, Emeritus Professor, TDU, Founder Member, World Siddha Forum. The celebration addressed significant issues, i.e. participation of WHO–TCIM, Indian Consulate, and UAE Health Authorities, Multi-system representation: Siddha, Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Homeopathy & Naturopathy and Emirati Traditional Medicine, engagement of Emirati and Indian diaspora communities and alignment with One Health, Planetary Health, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
