The 12 week-long online retreat conducted by Dr. Yogesh Mohan, on Integral Healing was very enriching. It helped the participants to cultivate those sacred vibrations within oneself, so that it becomes a part of their intrinsic nature. The goal is to carry the Divine presence into everyday life-into work, family and daily interactions. Healing, of both the physical and psychological nature, is seen as an integral part of this spiritual journey.
The first three sessions laid the foundation for the deeper journey. It began with the preliminary practices and lifestyle adjustments, gradually deepening into higher levels of consciousness and opening ‘’new doors’’ within.
Day 1 practice: Loving Relationship with the Body
The session helped the participants internalise the sacred atmosphere, which is usually felt in temples, ashrams or holy places. Instead of experiencing peace only externally, the goal was to awaken and sustain that vibration within—bringing the divine presence into work, relationships and everyday life. Healing, both physical and psychological, was seen as a natural outcome of spiritual alignment.
Dr. Yogesh introduced basic meditation techniques and observation of thoughts, emotions, and said that transformation required consistency, sincerity, and a willingness to reshape both inner attitude and outer habits and mainly focused on awareness, preparation, and presence.
Sri Aurobindo’s ‘’All Life is Yoga’’, which rightly explains that it is just not about yoga, but how every breath, every thought, every action and emotion should become an offering to the Divine.
Healing is spiritual: Illness is linked to imbalance in consciousness, not just the body. Healing starts with trusting the body’s intelligence and supporting it with calmness, rest, nourishment and cheerfulness. The deeper transformation is done by the divine Presence working within.
Practice: Loving relationship with the body.
1. Body Awareness
With eyes closed, gently become aware each part of the body — from feet to head —awakening presence and liveliness.
2. Gentle Loving Touch
Place the hand softly on any area calling for attention. Offer tenderness and reassurance, letting love flow into the cells.
3. Body as a Conscious Being
Each part has its own intelligence and responds like a child—opening through affection and resisting neglect. Illness is a signal inviting care and balance.
4. Shift in Attitude.
Stop blaming the body for discomfort. Treat it with respect in every daily act—eating, resting, bathing, exercising. Love becomes the basis of healing.
Sharing: Many felt peace, lightness, or relief from pain, while others noticed hidden fear or restlessness dissolving through gentle reassurance.
Essence: This retreat is about carrying divine vibration within, healing by loving and listening to the body, and turning everyday life into a continuous act of yoga and inner transformation.
Day 2: Dr. Yogesh emphasised that healing and spiritual growth were possible because each person carried a psychic being within and the body itself was a divine, responsive instrument. Healing was understood as both individual and collective; the sangha amplified each participant’s progress. Sharing inner changes helped acknowledge transformation consciously and supported the group’s collective evolution.
Dr. Yogesh stressed on the importance of Body and awareness practices. He said, we all lived in the mental world, dominated by thoughts. To reconnect with the inner self, awareness should return to the body.
Practice: Body awareness:
-Gentle physical touch of different parts of the body.
-Developing sensitivity and intention to the touch.
-Experiencing the body’s subtle responses to the loving awareness.
Participants explored how modern life kept them in the mind and disconnected from the body. The practice introduced gentle physical touch, intentional sensitivity, and noticing the body’s subtle responses to loving awareness. Many experienced lightness, calm, and physical relief.
Dr. Yogesh said that the outer life was not wrong, but became limiting when it overshadowed inner growth. People often avoided silence because they did not know how to simply be. True sadhana began when even small pauses were offered to the Divine. The body was described as both physical and subtle—capable of drawing energy directly from the universe. By opening to Universal Shakti, one could nourish and transform the body from within.
Healing and progress arose from honoring the body as divine, nurturing it with love, and aligning with the psychic being. Collective practice and receptivity to subtle energy made life itself an expression of yoga.
Awakening the Body and Subtle Shakti
The second half of the session focused on awakening subtle energy through simple kriyas.Dr. Yogesh emphasised that chakras and Nadis were subtle structures, perceptible only through developed sensitivity. The practices trained the body to become receptive to pranic and divine energy.
Hand Awareness & Activation
Participants touched and explored all parts of the hands and fingers, breathing in while opening the palms and breathing out heaviness while closing them. The hand is an entry point for pranic energy. The aura of the hand and the different sensations across the hand was observed.
Observations: tingling, warmth, blooming sensations, and energy moving through the limbs.
Wrist Joint Rotation & Drainage
Gentle wrist rotations were used to bring Shakti into the joint, the wrist is linked to the abdominal and pelvic energy pathways.
Observations: warmth, memory release, and energy moving into other body regions.
Nadi Activation (Breath + Hand Movement)
With straight arms, and small coordinated movements with breath helped move energy through arm and shoulder Nadis.
Observations: coolness, tingling, reduced stiffness, and relief from neuropathy-like sensations.
Shoulder & Armpit Opening
Creating space in the shoulder and armpit while breathing in Shakti released deep tension. The armpit and shoulder respond by releasing the stored tension, which helps conditions like tennis elbow and frozen shoulder.
Observations: warm release, emptying sensations, and softening into the neck and upper spine.
Sharing
Many reported reliefs in chronic pain zones and widening relaxation; a few noticed mental resistances; some felt energy linking hands to hips, abdomen, or spine.
Practical Guidance
Participants were reminded not to strain, to use short cycles of 5 gentle repetitions, and to prioritize sensitivity over effort. Breath, awareness, and soft movement could be applied to any area calling for healing. The session closed with settling into the heart, invoking the Divine Mother’s presence, and bathing the body in gratitude and protection.
Day 3: Dr. Yogesh emphasized that to enter a receptive state for healing, the first step is to set aside all outer distractions, worries, and preoccupations of the mind. One must turn inward, connect with the psychic being, and cultivate surrender and aspiration to receive the Divine Force. In such a state of openness, even the simplest movements—when done with awareness—evoke profound responses from the body and consciousness.
Practice-Healing from Mother Earth:
The focus of this session was on connecting the body with the powers of Mother Earth. Participants were guided to stand barefoot, relax the body, and consciously connect their feet with the ground. The heaviness, pain, or discomfort in the body was visualized as flowing into the Earth in the form of dark clouds or fluids. Fresh pranic energy was drawn upward from the Earth into the body.
The process highlighted Mother Earth’s infinite capacity to absorb and transform energies. Recognizing Earth as the Divine Mother brought relief, stability, and grounding.
Practice-Moola Dhara Chakra:
The session then focused on the Moola Dhara chakra; the subtle energy center located at the base of the spine in the pelvic region. This chakra is not only the seat of stability and grounding but also the point where human consciousness connects directly with Earth.
Participants focused awareness on the pelvic region, breathing into it and gently contracting and releasing the perineal muscles to awaken the Moola Dhara. The chakra was visualized as opening and connecting to Earth through rays of light. With each breath, nurturing Earth-energy rose through the root center and spread through tissues, organs, and cells. This process supported physical healing and purified deeper subconscious impressions. This process not only brought physical healing but also touched the subconscious, releasing deep impressions and offering them to the Divine for purification.
Sharing:
Some felt peace, gratitude, and a strong connection to the Earth.Others sensed warmth or vibration in the pelvic region and a renewed sense of grounding.
Essence:
The day revealed that healing was not merely the easing of symptoms but a holistic alignment of body, mind, and consciousness. Silence and surrender were essential for receiving the Divine Force. Awareness acted as medicine. Connection with Mother Earth brought nourishment, stability, and transformation. Moola Dhara activation grounded the being and helped release subconscious. True healing emerged from harmony—between self and Earth, body and consciousness, and ultimately between the human and the Divine.
Day 4: Dr. Yogesh explained that transformation had occurred not through techniques or intellectual discussions, but through the descent of consciousness and the inner receptivity cultivated in these sessions. Real change required withdrawing from the surface personality and resting in deeper, silent awareness where Divine Grace could act. Books or technology could offer ideas, but only contact with the Shakti brought true healing.
Core Teachings
- Developing Receptivity: Inner silence and openness allowed Divine Force to take root.
- Detaching From Surface Identity: Age, profession, emotions, and physical roles were seen as outer formations; recognizing this reduced suffering.
- Discovering the Vast Self: As the sea was more than its waves, participants were more than their outer roles. Freedom came from living in inner depth.
- Shifting to the Inner Heart: Concentrating in the heart made problems shrink and brought harmony.
- Gradual Unfolding: Depth grew through repetition and daily practice; in deeper states the body could feel fluid, light, and more open to healing.
The Mother’s Prayer (Feb 1, 1914)
The prayer was offered as a powerful means of detachment, opening participants to the descent of light. It invoked the Divine as the liberator of worlds, reflected on humanity’s fleeting nature, and highlighted how divine light sometimes shines through beings to uplift the world. This prayer is very powerful, — it draws the consciousness inward, detaches one from surface concerns, and makes space for light to descend.
Inner Perspective & Layers of the Being
Dr. Yogesh spoke about the layered nature of the self: the gross and subtle physical bodies, the surface and inner vital, and higher levels of mind capable of intuition and light. When viewed from the psychic space, outer problems appeared small and manageable—like cities seen from high altitude.
Moving within brought wisdom and harmony among body, vital, and mind. This reordering was true healing, not just symptom relief. When inner silence became the reference point, surface life became easier, clearer, and more balanced.
Practice
Make the body comfortable and release tension.
Place awareness in the heart, entering its depth and quiet.
Call the Mother’s presence and listen inwardly.
Observe outer life from this depth; let surface concerns lose importance.
Visualize luminous cells; invite the psychic light wherever darkness is felt.
Surrender body, life, and mind to the Divine Shakti.
Remain open and allow Grace to act naturally.
Sharing
Many felt deep peace, warmth, and inner security. Some experienced pain relief, faster healing, and lightness. Others reported expanded awareness and detachment from outer identity. Several sensed vibrations, inner light, or cleansing sensations; some slipped into restful sleep.
Dr. Yogesh reassured that all experiences were natural and encouraged non-judgment and perseverance.
Essence:
The day invited participants to shift from the surface personality to the psychic being—the space where Divine Force could act. In this inner silence, knots of fear and pain loosened, the body felt more luminous, and life aligned with higher harmony. Transformation was revealed as a steady journey of surrender, receptivity, and inner opening.
