“The descent of Krishna would mean the descent of the Overmind Godhead preparing, though not itself actually bringing, the descent of Supermind and Ananda. Krishna is the Anandamaya, he supports the evolution through the Overmind leading it towards his Ananda.” Sri Aurobindo
On the auspicious occasion of Siddhi Day, AuroBharati, part of the Aurobindo Society in the Union Territory of Puducherry, hosted an evening dedicated to spiritual discussions centered around the theme "Krishna Consciousness: Transitioning from the Material Realm to the Sphere of Spiritual Awareness" on November 24, 2025.
November 24 holds great significance, particularly for the followers of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, as it commemorates the anniversary of Siddhi Day. This event, known as "The Day of Victory," is considered a pivotal moment in spiritual history, representing a significant step towards achieving a higher consciousness on Earth.
The lecture was presented by me, whereas I elaborated on the consciousness of Lord Krishna, transformation, and spiritual awareness, referencing the writings of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.
In my address, I presented that Krishna Consciousness signifies the awakening of the soul to its eternal connection with the Divine. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna reveals Himself as the indwelling Lord who guides all beings towards dharma and inner surrender. Sri Aurobindo perceives Krishna as the Divine Delight that elevates the soul, while The Mother highlights the psychic opening that permits Krishna’s presence to influence thought, emotion, and action.
Focusing on the transformation from the material to the spiritual, I stated that Sri Aurobindo teaches that matter is not in opposition to spirit but rather a dense manifestation of the Divine that is poised for evolution into a higher consciousness. The Mother describes this process as the descent of the supramental force, which aims to transform the physical itself. The Gita reinforces this notion by presenting prakriti as divine energy that is purified through disciplined action and surrender.
The ultimate "Spiritual Experience" as articulated by Krishna consciousness, in the perspective of Sri Aurobindo, encompasses a spectrum from inner tranquility to complete communion with the Divine Shakti. The Mother emphasizes the importance of sincerity, aspiration, and receptivity as essential components for attaining such experiences. In the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna's encounter with Sri Krishna's universal form serves as a prime illustration of the ultimate experience—an immediate awareness of the Divine reality that pervades all of existence. During this event, Acharya Sri Hariprasad, along with distinguished scholars and practitioners from various regions, participated and contributed their insights on this topic.
