As part of our ongoing commitment to prisoners well-being, the Auro Model Prison Project, in collaboration with Shri Ramajayam Charitable Trust, Puducherry, organised its annual Dental Health Camp at the Central Prison, Kalapet, on 12th November 2025. This initiative is a key component of the project’s broader efforts to promote holistic care, preventive health and rehabilitation through improved hygiene awareness.

The camp was conducted by Six dental doctors and five support paramedics assistants, coordinated by Shri Ramajayam Charitable Trust. Approximately 60 inmates and prison staff were screened for various dental issues, including tooth decay, gum infections and oral hygiene issues. Necessary treatments were provided on-site, and individuals requiring further care were identified for follow-up sessions.
Recognising the importance of sustained oral health, we have planned to organise regular monthly/ bi-monthly follow-up camps to ensure continued treatment and monitoring.
Sri Aurobindo Society extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Shri Ramajayam Charitable Trust team for their ongoing honorary service at the Central Prison. The Auro Model Prison Project remains committed to this journey of transformative rehabilitation, care and dignity.
