On 12 August 2025, SARVAM, in collaboration with Puducherry Cancer Trust Hospital & Research Centre, Pondicherry, organised a specialised medical camp at the Satyam Training Centre focusing on women’s health and cancer awareness. The camp brought together 60 women from three villages, aiming to equip them with vital knowledge on early detection of cancer and the importance of preventive healthcare.

The programme began with basic health check-ups, including blood pressure and blood sugar screenings for all participants. A doctor delivered an informative session on various cancers, with particular emphasis on breast and uterine cancers. She highlighted that early screening and timely diagnosis are crucial in saving lives and urged the women to stay attentive to their health. Hygiene practices were also discussed as a key factor in maintaining overall well-being.

An interactive question-and-answer session gave participants the opportunity to share personal concerns and receive clear medical guidance. Several women came forward for further medical examination, and the doctor attended to them with care and attention, ensuring they felt supported.

Participants expressed deep appreciation for the personalised attention and valuable knowledge they received. Many committed to not only adopting healthier practices themselves but also to spreading awareness within their communities. The camp successfully strengthened the message that informed vigilance and early detection are essential tools in preventing serious health issues.
