On 30th July 2025, Aurokrishi organised a one-day training programme on Effective Microorganisms (EM) at Matri Kunj, Poothurai. The event brought together 30 participants, including farmers, senior agro technologists from Puducherry, and students, with the aim of promoting sustainable agricultural practices through the use of EM.

The programme began with an invocation and welcome address by Dr. Ragavan, followed by an engaging session conducted by Mr. Devanathan and Mr. Niranjan Kumar, Senior Technical Officers from Eco Pro, Auroville. Their talk emphasised the importance of water conservation, sanitation, and hygiene in both domestic and agricultural contexts, laying the foundation for sustainable farming practices.

The core session focused on the role of Effective Microorganisms, a consortium of beneficial microbes that improve soil fertility, promote plant growth, and suppress harmful pathogens. Participants were introduced to the science behind EM and its practical applications in organic and natural farming, including composting, soil conditioning, and pest management.

A highlight of the training was the live demonstration on preparing EM using locally available ingredients. This hands-on session allowed participants to gain practical knowledge on preparation, storage, and usage in real farming scenarios.

The day concluded with an open discussion, where participants shared insights and received clarifications from the experts. Certificates of participation were distributed, with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Manimaran.

Overall, the training was interactive, informative, and highly appreciated, sparking enthusiasm among participants to adopt EM practices for sustainable agriculture and environmental well-being.
