Held on the occasion of Chaitra Navratri 2025, this one-day workshop was aimed at paying homage to the Divine Mother and her inexhaustible splendour through collective sadhana, profound enquiries and awareness practices. The facilitator, Ankita Sharma, set forth the intention of offering ourselves unreservedly to the Divine Mother to find our psychic being and for Her work towards a New Creation. She highlighted the importance of deeply understanding that the Mother’s New World is not just morally or idealistically better than the old world where forces of falsehood reign, but is about a radical shift in consciousness towards Sat Chit Ananda.
"The mind doesn't believe in something that doesn't yet have forms. It is incapable of gaining true knowledge of the infinite," she said while emphasising the need to develop a higher sense. By contrasting the developments happening across the world with inner breakthroughs in individual consciousness, she gave a vivid view of how the Shakti is inching closer to her goal of transforming the consciousness and substance of Earth.
Through the writings of the Mother, the participants learned that while Nature (Higher) is always doing Yoga through us, we can actively and joyfully collaborate by widening our consciousness and transforming the tendencies of Lower Nature. In the end, after we release our instruments from the grip of ego, it is SHE who will take over the sadhana completely, said Ankita.
“At the basis of this collaboration there is necessarily the will to change, no longer to be what one is, for things to be no longer what they are….
What is indispensable in every case is the ardent will for progress, the willing and joyful renunciation of all that hampers the advance: to throw far away from oneself all that prevents one from going forward, and to set out into the unknown with the ardent faith that this is the truth of tomorrow, inevitable, which must necessarily come, which nothing, nobody, no bad will, even that of Nature, can prevent from becoming a reality.”
The facilitator encouraged the participants to have their own unique discoveries in the field of Truth Consciousness by Aspiring, Rejecting and Surrendering at the lotus feet of the Mother. Through a powerful practice, participants were guided to touch the inner flame of aspiration and unite all other parts of the being to a central aspiration. They then offered every single part of the body concretely to the Divine Mother and her various qualities. They further learned the importance of having faith in the Higher Ideal and Vision of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother as they are continuing the work in the Subtle World. In times of difficulty, it is the Faith that makes the journey easier.
Through reflections on the concepts of Neti Neti and other Mahavakyas from the Upanishads and Integral Yoga, the sadhaks learned the importance of vigilance on the path of sadhana so that vanity, ego and the force of ignorance don’t hijack the progress made on the path or create a false sense of spiritual victory. The sadhaks were encouraged to keep marching on to find the True Soul, as it is only when the being is united with the soul that the Truth reveals itself fully. While some experiences might come along the path through the Divine Grace, these are meant to be used for deeper realisations in the whole being, Ankita pointed out.
A special focus was given to the indispensability of discipline and humility in sadhana. The facilitator highlighted some common misconceptions and notions that build up a lot of Tamas or inertia in sadhaks and delay progress.
Other explorations from the workshop:
- Embodying the qualities of Maheshwari, Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati through a body-awareness practice
- The body’s transformation by the Higher Consciousness
- Plasticity in the body, mind and vital to be able to change the course of Sadhana when needed and allowing the Mother’s dynamic Force
Some of the questions allowed the facilitator to share practical insights on A) dealing with sudden troubles arising from subconscient in sadhana, B) doing the sadhana while remaining engaged with the world and C) making the surrender more active and dynamic.
The workshop concluded with participants connecting directly with the Force of the Mother and receiving a renewed sense of commitment towards Mother’s Delightful Adventure.
