On 26th March 2025, the Auro Model Prison project, in collaboration with Shree Varma, Puducherry, organised an Ayurveda Camp at Central Prison, Kalapet, Puducherry. The initiative aimed to provide holistic healthcare to inmates and jail staff, promoting well-being through Ayurvedic treatment and consultation.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Mr. V. Baskaran, Superintendent of Jail, along with representatives from Auro Model Prison and Ayurveda doctors from Chennai and Puducherry.
Key Highlights:
A total of 125 inmates and jail staff underwent Ayurvedic consultations and received personalised health guidance.
Ayurvedic medicines and supplements were arranged by Shree Varma, Puducherry, as part of their support for the initiative.
The camp was well received and appreciated by participants, reinforcing the importance of alternative and holistic healthcare approaches.
The Auro Model Prison project expresses gratitude to Shree Varma, Puducherry, for their collaboration and contribution to this healthcare initiative. Plans are in place to conduct follow-up review camps to ensure continuity of care and further assessment of inmates' health conditions.
