On 18th October 2024, the AuroMedia team conducted a half-day workshop on the basics of Photography and Videography, focusing on using mobile phones as primary tools. Nine participants from different teams, including Integral Education, AuroYouth, Bharatshakti, IT, AURA, and Matriniketan, actively engaged in this hands-on learning session.

The workshop was led by S. Bharath and Shruti from AuroMedia. It began with an introduction to basic photography concepts, such as composition, framing, lighting, and line. Visual examples were used to explain these elements, providing participants with a clear understanding of the essentials of photography.

The participants were then divided into two groups. Bharath introduced basic camera functions, including ISO, shutter speed, and aperture, giving participants a chance to experiment with a DSLR camera. Participants creatively framed their shots, achieving impressive results.

Shruti focused on mobile videography, demonstrating techniques for capturing videos on mobile phones. Participants received step-by-step guidance on recording videos and conducting interviews, with tips on framing and key elements to keep in mind.

The workshop also included a group discussion about submitting photographs to the media and designer teams, emphasizing teamwork in creating visual content. Participants were encouraged to apply what they had learned through practical activities, creating their own subjects for both photography and videography.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to learn new skills.
