As a mark of celebrating the National Unity Day, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, Union Territory of Puducherry in collaboration with Indus University, Gujarat, organized a National Symposium on the topic “Contribution of Sri Aurobindo and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to the Unity and Integrity of India” on 2nd November, 2024.
The symposium focussed on specific issues related to the contribution of Sri Aurobindo and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the Unity and Integrity of India, including freedom movement, national integration and peaceful coexistence among communities.
Sri Predeep Narang, Chairman, Sri Aurobindo Society said that Sri Aurobindo has written and spoken extensively on this subject in his book “Ideal of Human Unity” and “Human Cycle”. He also emphasized that Sardar Patel also has spoken emphatically that large numbers will have no value unless there is unity as a binding factor. Sri Aurobindo called Patel “a strong man by any description by any standard”. Indeed, there is a commonality between Sri Aurobindo and Sardar Patel on this issue.
Dr. Nagesh Bhandari, President, Indus University said that we are inspired by the monumental efforts by the two of the immortal souls, Sri Aurobindo and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Their vision, mission and dedication and steadfast commitment for the united India inspires the entire nations to work for the unity and integrity of Bharat.
Prof. Dr. Vedvyas Jayprakashnarayan Dwivedi, Executive Vice President, Indus University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India spoke about the Contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and and Dr Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry, India shared relevant information about the contribution of Maharshi Aurobindo for the Unity and Integrity of India.
Significant discussions on the thoughts of Sri Aurobindo and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel were held by the participants.
