On 20th August 2024, the SARVAM team, in collaboration with the Department of Preventive & Social Medicine from JIPMER, initiated the Family Health Advisory Program at the Satyam Community Centre. The programme, focused on improving health outcomes in three selected SARVAM villages, began with comprehensive discussions on the needs and challenges faced by the community, especially in areas of sanitation, child health, and preventive care.
Building on the successes of previous years, the SARVAM and JIPMER teams carefully planned the participation of selected families, ensuring that the programme would address specific health issues prevalent in the villages. The teams outlined a strategy for long-term engagement, which includes regular visits by JIPMER professionals until February 2024. These visits are intended to monitor progress, provide necessary interventions, and engage the community in ongoing health initiatives.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of community involvement, particularly the role of children in promoting and sustaining health practices. The collaboration aims to create a sustainable impact by empowering the villagers with the knowledge and resources needed to maintain good health practices.
