AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society presents an evening of Vocal Music Concert by Shri Ninad Anil Shukla on 11th November, 2023 at Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry.
Dr. Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society welcomed the artists and briefly mentioned about the significance of Indian Music. He mentioned about the significance of Music in the light of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. According to the Mother ‘The role of music lies in helping the consciousness uplift itself towards the spiritual heights. All that lowers consciousness, encourages desires and excites the passions, runs counter to the true goal of music and ought to be avoided.’ He also mentioned about the vision of Maharshi Aurobindo on Music ‘Art, poetry, music are not yoga, not in themselves things spiritual any more than philosophy is a thing spiritual or Science.’ He said that Indian music holds immense significance and importance, deeply rooted in the cultural, spiritual, and historical fabric of the country. Its significance can be understood through various aspects.
Shri Ninad Anil Shukla, the Classical and Light Vocalist performed beautiful musical offering related to Classical Music. He learnt classical music from Dr.Vijay Sathe (disiple of sangeetmartandPt.Jasraj). He received Master of Arts in Philosophy and Sangeet Visharad in Vocal and in Harmonium from Akhila Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Miraj. He is the recipient of “Surmani" by sur-singer sansad,Mumbai, "Sangeet Ratna" by Lokkalamanch at Delhi, "Balgandharv" and "National Pratibha Ratn" at Pune, "Sangeet SadhakSanman" at Udaipur" and UtkrushtaKalakarSanman" at Lucknow. He is an empanelled artist of ICCR, Government of India and has performed at prestigious musical concerts. He was accompanied by Shri Tapan Bandopadhyay.
