Through Chinmaya Surya Pondicherry, Chinmaya Mission has been conducting annual recital competitions for students on ancient Tamil spiritual poems. They conducted this competition on 16 September 2023. Around 100 aspiring students from the various project villages of SARVAM participated eagerly in this competition.

Thiruvasagam, the eighth volume of Thirumurai, is a Tamil hymn composed by the ninth-century Shaivite bhakti poet Manikkavasagar. This year, the panellists asked the students to sing from Thiruvasagam.

 An expert panel of teachers from Chinmaya Mission judged the recital. They assessed the students' ability to recite the poem accurately and coherently.

The panel selected 15 students for the next round of competition. These competitions help students develop a good understanding of our ancient poems and good Tamil pronunciation skills.

The winners received certificates and prizes. This competition also allowed the students to showcase their talents and learn more about Tamil literature.

A state-level competition will be held for the 15 winners in the coming months. The competition winners will receive awards for their achievements. The competition will also provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and creativity.
