Sri Aurobindo Society Pondicherry facilitated to set up a training centre in Pondicherry Prison with The Central Footwear Training Institute, Chennai, a Premier Institute of its kind in the country. The inmates will be trained in Advanced Footwear Technology Courses and practical-oriented, need-based short-term courses as part of the reformation and rehabilitation initiative of AuroModel Prison. Deputy Speaker of the Pondicherry Legislative Assembly, in the presence of P.M.L.Kalyanasundaram, the elected member of the Kalapet Constituency. Sri Aurobindo Society aspires to set up a unit to train the inmates' children and families and unemployed youth in the bio-region as a reformative and rehabilitative of AuroModel Prison. The Director of CFTI has assured 100% job placement will be provided to the trained inmates and the products made in the unit will be bought by the CFTI.
