On the occasion of the completion of 75th year of India’s Independence, and the 150th year of the Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Sri Aurobindo, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, Sri Aurobindo Ashram Archive, INTACH, Pondicherry Chapter, Department of Tourism, Govt. of Puducherry, French Institute of Pondicherry and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts presents an Exhibition on the theme ‘Celebrating 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo and 75 years of India’s independence – An exhibition on the unsung heroes of Pondicherry.’ This exhibition will be held at MatriNiketan, 34, Maravadi Street, Kuruchikuppam, Puducherry from 10th-18th February, 2023.
The independence movement of India incorporated by the efforts of Indians involved a wide spectrum of Indian political organizations, philosophies and rebellions to make India as an Independent country. The nation cannot forget the sacrifice done by the immortal souls who sacrificed their lives for the freedom movement of this country and there is a need to revisit the glorious history of India as well as the possibilities for a brighter and developed India.
This exhibition will highlight the important aspects of the completion of the 75th year of India’s independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. As a mark of celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Maharishi Sri Aurobindo, this exhibition will also focus on the important contribution of the yogi, seer, philosopher, poet and Indian nationalist propounded the philosophy of divine life on earth. Significant aspects of the contributions made by the unsung heroes of Pondicherry are also part of the exhibition.
