A one-day workshop was conducted by SARVAM for 20 volunteers on teaching ethics to children through interactive means. This workshop taught the volunteers on providing kids with a safe, fun, interactive environment to explore important topics affecting their lives, encouraging empathy and fostering a deeper sense of self-respect and respect for others.

Good moral values, such as kindness, humility, courage, and compassion at an early age builds the character of a child, forming their very core and forming the basis of their moral beliefs. It was with this fact in mind that the workshop was planned and conducted.

A trainer from TISS, Mumbai shared how art, theatre, games, stories, music, discussion, reflection, and action empower students to make a difference in teaching the ethics.

Furthermore, she pointed out that it is the mission to provide students with a forum where they will identify their values, gain knowledge and develop the skills they need to establish and follow their moral compass.

She also explained that volunteers should focus on taking care of themselves, their families, their communities, and the environment to make them happy and also others happy.

The training included a drama activity in which each group selected an ethical story for the children to act out.

It was a very healthy part of the training to discuss on improving the children's conditions through classes on ethics.

Overall, the participants were very happy and satisfied with this programme.  They further added that the dramas they enacted served as a stress buster and hence they were at ease participating in them.

At the end of the workshop, all participants assured that they would handle the children in a friendly and caring way.
