As part of inculcating healthy practices and lifestyles among children, Sri Aurobindo Society has been implementing the DST- School Health action project in 10 government schools of Puducherry.

As part of the project, Svarnim Puducherry team has been looking at the school health data in a proactive manner and putting the data into actionable interventions including looking at health status of children, addressing BMI (body mass index) related problems and also to have an experiential, holistic look at nutrition including promoting kitchen gardens at school and its neighbourhood.

As part of the project, Sri Aurobindo Society organized a Sports Kit distribution to all the 10 participating schools and the sports kits were distributed by the Hon'ble Minister for Education, Sri.Namassivayam in the presence of Sri.PT Rudra Goud, Director, School Education. Dr.R.Senthilkumar, Project Investigator and Mr.TP Raghunath, Director, Svarnim Puducherry along with Svarnim Puducherry team also participated in the function.

The Sports Kit housed in a utility bag has several sets of games and sports equipment along with a First Aid kit also worth about Rs.20,000 and would be used by children of the 10 schools. The Heads of the schools along with the Nodal Teachers and Physical Education teachers participated in the programme held at the Directorate of School Education on 12th March 2022 at 5.00 pm and received the kits from the Hon'ble Minister, Mr.Namassivayam.
