Two initiatives of Sri Aurobindo Society join hand-in-hand to make the big dream “The Momentous Day Aug 15, 2022” come true.  The initiatives of Rupantar are implemented through the initiatives of Swarnim Puducherry/Golden Pondicherry.

The Puducherry CM set in motion these major initiatives of Rupantar to enhance the quality of Government Schools and to build Puducherry as a Model State.

Focusing on improving access and quality of education, and aiming to take forward a new course of growth in the Union Territory of Puducherry, Hon’ble Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy launched major new initiatives, at an event held on Nov 14, 2019 at Kariyamanikam.

Addressing the gathering of students and teachers Chief Minister said, “The role of a teacher is highly significant. They have the ability to transform dreams of the students into a reality. Sri Aurobindo Society has done great work in the field of education and other areas. We all share the responsibility to motivate teachers and work like a family with harmony and unity. We should strive to create a State which progressively moves on the path of sustainable development, and better education.”

The CM then launched three education initiatives of Zero Investment Innovations for Education Initiatives (ZIIEI), Innovative Pathshaala App and Education Intelligence System.  All these three initiatives are the brain child of Sri Aurobindo Society (SAS) and these projects are supported by the HDFC Bank.

Thiru. Vijay Poddar, Director – SAS said, “as the nation moves towards a momentous date- August 15th, 2022, which marks India’s 75th Independence Day and 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, the Society has conceived ‘Swarnim Puducherry’/ ‘Gloden Puducherry’ as an aspiration to build Puducherry as a Model State, carrying the spirit and consciousness of true India in its foundation.”

Since 2018, as part of Sri Aurobindo Society’s Zero Investment Innovations for Education Initiatives (ZIIEI), government school teachers in Puducherry were given a platform to share their innovative ideas to improve the quality of education. The most effective ideas by forty-four teachers have been published in the ‘Innovations Handbook- Puducherry Edition’  and this was released by the Chief Minister at this event.  This will be replicated by the other schools across the country.

Innovative Pathshaala App, a mobile application for experiential-learning and teaching was also launched during this event.  Teachers can access these activity-based lesson plans and teach syllabus topics using grassroot innovations. The content has been created by the society by compiling the most effective zero-investment teaching practices of teachers from 18 states, mapped with State and NCERT syllabi.

Another innovative platform introduced by CM is Education Intelligence System for online school monitoring by the Education Department. The Society is also working in Puducherry to make inclusive education a reality, by training teachers to identify and support students with ‘hidden’ disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders.

Along with the Chief Minister, Shri. R Kamalakannan, Education Minister, Shri. Rudra Goud, Director – Education Department and the Executives of HDFC Bank took part and made this a memorable event in the pages of Rupantar and Swarnim Puducherry.
