Sanskrit Week Celebration

Start Date:12-Aug-2022

End Date:12-Aug-2022

Location:Society House

Institute:AuroBharati

Sanskrit is an ancient sacred language in India. Several books like the Rigveda were written in this language.  This language, Sanskrit, is known to have no start and no end, making it divine and everlasting. It is also known as Dev Vani or the “language of Gods”.

AuroBharati the Indian cultural Wing of SAS is celebrating Sanskrit Diwas on 12 August 2022. Though Sanskrit is an ancient language, there is a fear that this language may extinct in the years to come.  This celebration is a mark of spreading awareness and respect for India's most ancient language.

The celebration will begin with a welcome speech by Shri Pradeep Narang, Chairman, Sri Aurobindo Society, followed by recitation of Durga Strotra by Shri Kishor Kumar Tripathy.  Young scholars of Vedasharama Gurukulam will chant mantras in Sanskrit and the programme will conclude with Pooja Sahoo performing a Odishi dance.

The programme will begin at 4:30 p.m.
