On the Darshan day of 24th November, we celebrate the anniversary of the descent of the Overmental Consciousness and the founding of Sri Aurobindo Ashram. The Card distributed in the Ashram on 24th November this year contains a beautiful message of Sri Aurobindo on what is the true purpose of Yoga.

There is behind all this life the look of an eternal 
Being upon its multitudinous becomings …  But this 
knowledge  is valueless for Yoga  if  it  is  only an 
intellectual and metaphysical notion void of life and
barren  of  consequence; a mental realisation alone 
cannot be sufficient for the seeker.  For what Yoga 
searches after is not truth of thought alone or truth of 
mind alone, but the dynamic truth of a living and 
revealing spiritual experience.
