CIPS activities are presently spread mainly in four sectors, namely Health, Education, Urban Governance and e-governance, and it conducts workshops and training programmes across the country to showcase innovative/ best practices. The Director of CIPS, Shri C. Achalender Reddy, IFS, recently visited Sri Aurobindo Society and was given an introduction to many of the activities and innovative programmes being carried out in the fields of health, education and urban development. Dr Reddy showed keen interest in knowing more about these programmes and after a detailed study proposed to join hands with the Society to work together under three integral programmes, namely SANJEEVAN covering the palliative care; RUPANTAR which works for development of government/public school teachers and staff; and SVARNIM Puducherry which is working to make Puducherry a model state, adopting the best practises of governance from all over the world.

The MOU was signed between Shri Reddy on the behalf of CIPS and Shri Vijay N. Poddar, Member Executive—Administration & Finance, Sri Aurobindo Society, laying the foundation of new partnership for innovation in and development of public systems in Puducherry.

In recognition of the mutual interest in training programmes/workshops, research and capacity building shared by Sri Aurobindo Society and the CIPS, both institutions have agreed to enter into a wide-ranging partnership for all activities relating to innovative practices. The objective of the agreement is to establish, maintain and enhance academic and intellectual interaction between the Sri Aurobindo Society and CIPS through specific initiatives.
