Dr. R. Rajendran, Founder, Assist World Record Research Foundation presented the welcome address.

Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized on “Diversity of Cultural Expressions and the National Value of Art: Challenges and Possibilities.” He focussed on the  vision of Maharshi Aurobindo on The National Value of Art "….. in India, the greatest efflorescence of a national Art has been associated with the employment of the artistic genius to illustrate or adorn the thoughts and fancies or the temples and instruments of the national religion. This was not because Art is necessarily associated with the outward forms of religion, but because it was in the religion that men’s spiritual aspirations centered themselves."

Emphasized on the great vision of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam for the preservation of heritage and culture. Art in its nature is universal which has always been a creative way to present the integral vision through the ages. An artist

fosters creativity and intellectual insights into society at large. Emphasized on capacity building and entrepreneurship program which can lead to sustainability.

On this occasion, a beautiful exhibition comprising art works by eminent artists focussing on the life of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam along with diversity of cultural expressions of Indian Culture was organized. Malayagam Tamizhargalinvaralaru - 200 (Art Camp) was also organized by Malayagam Murupokku Maiyam at Palmyra, Aurobindavan, Auroville.
